چکیده

Abstract Mixing hydrocarbon surfactants with fluorocarbon is still an important strategy to improve the economic benefits and performances of expand their range application. Herein, we prepared a novel kind hydrocarbon-fluorocarbon surfactant mixtures via mixing cationic surfactant, cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB), tri-block nonionic short-chain (F 9 EG 13 F ) in aqueous solution. The results showed that adding small CTAB amount (the molar fraction mixture ( x 1 was 0.2) could greatly reduce its critical micelle concentrations cmc from 0.408 mmol/L 0.191 mmol/L. At this , contact angle minimum (57.7 °) at 100 s on polytetrafluoroethylene film, which even lower than . Besides, CTAB/F possessed better colloidal stability solubilization ability toward hydrophobic dye (Sudan І) outstanding binary benefited non-ideal strong synergistic effect evidence be used practical applications instead individual thereby reducing cost Graphical abstract

Study of the Cloud Point of Nonionic Surfactant and Nonionic-cationic Surfactant Mixture: Effect of Electrolytes

Clouding phenomenon generally occurs with nonionic surfactants when the temperature of the system is raised to a certain value. This critical temperature is termed the cloud point (CP). The aqueous solutions of nonionic surfactants show complex phase behaviour including liquid-liquid phase separation at this temperature. The cloud point of aqueous surfactant solutions is influenced by the prese...

Spontaneous aggregate transition in mixtures of a cationic gemini surfactant with a double-chain cationic surfactant.

Controllable aggregate transitions were realized by mixing two kinds of cationic surfactants, hexylene-1,6-bis(dodecyldimethylammonium bromide) (C(12)C(6)C(12)Br(2)) and didodecyldimethylammonium bromide (DDAB). It was found that two parameters are the main factors determining the aggregation behavior of the mixed system, the total concentration of DDAB and C(12)C(6)C(12)Br(2) (C(T)), and the m...

Interaction and micellar behavior of aqueous mixtures of surface active ionic liquid and cationic surfactant: experimental and theoretical studies

The interaction between an ionic liquid (1-dodecyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide or IL) and cationic surfactant (dodecyltrimethylammonium bromide (DTAB)) in aqueous solution has been investigated at various mole fractions and temperature 30 ˚C using experimental and theoretical methods. The critical micelle concentration (CMC) of pure components and their binary mixtures, mixed micellar compositi...

Phase behavior, rheological property, and transmutation of vesicles in fluorocarbon and hydrocarbon surfactant mixtures.

We present a detailed study of a salt-free cationic/anionic (catanionic) surfactant system where a strongly alkaline cationic surfactant (tetradecyltrimethylammonium hydroxide, TTAOH) was mixed with a single-chain fluorocarbon acid (nonadecafluorodecanoic acid, NFDA) and a hyperbranched hydrocarbon acid [di-(2-ethylhexyl)phosphoric acid, DEHPA] in water. Typically the concentration of TTAOH is ...

Recovery of Oil in Limestone with Cationic Surfactant: Investigation of the Adsorption, Wettability, and Spontaneous Imbibition

The performance of petroleum recovery methods is dependent on the characteristics of the reservoir rock, oil quality, and formation water. One fundamental feature for considering petroleum recovery methods is the wettability of the rock reservoir. Also, this feature impacts the displacement of fluids in the rock reservior. In the case of the limestone, which normally features oil wettability, e...
